Moviri adds Hadoop to latest release of Integrators suite for TrueSight Capacity Optimization

Today Moviri released version 8 of its Integrators suite for TrueSight Capacity Optimization. With the new release, Moviri Integrators customers can now import capacity metrics from eleven distinct data sources into BMC Software’s market-leading product for IT capacity management.

Moviri has made a commitment to help customers manage and optimize capacity of big data platforms. The most significant addition in this latest release is the support for two major Hadoop distributions. Two new integrators enable users to analyze and plan capacity for:

• Cloudera Enterprise Datahub (CDH), through Cloudera Manager
• Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP), through Ambari

Moviri ability to integrate these big data platforms into Truesight Capacity Optimization is a unique differentiator among enterprise Capacity Management tools.

Built on the methodology matured during recent research studies, pilot projects and the ongoing collaboration with BMC Product Management, this new solution features a bundle of connectors that import data into TrueSight Capacity Optimization and a dedicated Hadoop View. The solution harnesses the built-in analytical capabilities and features of the Capacity Optimization platform. The view is an interactive dashboard designed to manage the capacity of Hadoop deployments, providing ready and valuable insights to decision makers:

• Multi-cluster and multi-vendor visibility
• Aggregated system resources utilization and load distribution across the nodes
• HDFS historical and forecasted occupation
• YARN jobs performance and impact on the underlying infrastructure

The new Hadoop connectors are certified by Cloudera and Hortonworks. The solution will be showcased in a dedicated session at the upcoming BMC Engage Global User Conference 2015.

Among the enhancements shipping with version 8, Moviri Integrator for Microsoft SCOM now provides the ability to extend the list of imported metrics through defined custom mappings. You can now import any metric from SCOM into Capacity Optimization. Finally, the release introduces incremental improvements and compatibility with latest versions of supported data sources for all existing integrators in the suite .
